Johnny Depp (57) threw a phone at Amber Heard and called her ‘Amber Turd’ after she allegedly defecated in their bed after a blazing row on her 30th birthday party in which he threw a champagne bottle at her, a UK court heard today.
Depp is being cross-examined on the fourth day of his libel trial at the High Court in London, where he is suing the The Sun newspaper, the publication that called him a “wife beater” during the height of his marital problems with his now ex-wife.
The court was shown a photograph of Heard’s bruised face after she claims Depp hurled a phone at her face as they argued over the so-called ‘defecation incident’ a month after the Hollywood legend decided to divorce his wife over the soiling of their bed.
Depp however claims Heard had been ‘drinking heavily’ and attacked him while he was reading in bed, punching him in the face four times before he grabbed her arms to stop her. He says the next day Heard or one of her friends ‘defecated’ in their marital bed.
On Wednesday, the third day of the trial, Heard told the court she was once worried the Pirates of the Caribbean star had gone on a 24 hour booze “bender” with Marilyn Manson after he dropped his daughter off at school sometime in February 2014.
“He went to drop Lily-Rose off this morning and hasn’t been back since,” Depp’s then-wife, Amber Heard, texted the actor’s sister Christi Dembrowski when Depp disappeared after dropping off his then 15 year old daughter.
“I think he’s at Marilyn’s now continuing the rage and coke booze binge,” Heard wrote in texts that were read out in court.
“He’s gonna hurt himself and take us as a couple down with him,” she wrote. “He just aims all his anger at me when he’s on it. Don’t know what to do.”
Depp admitted to taking cocaine with Manson, although he pointed out that his consumption of the narcotic had stopped when he got together with Heard.
“Manson and I did in fact take my daughter to school,” he told the court, saying that Heard was only “speculating that I’m on a binge with Manson for more than 24 hours.” .
He added : “That’s what Ms. Heard believed. As to how she had exact information about what I was doing with Manson is a mystery to me.”
Asked whether his sister had expressed anxiety about his drug intake at the time, Depp replied:
“My sister Christi has over many, many years since my youth had a number of worries about my consumption growing up and yes, she talked to me many times over the course of my life. We did speak about it.
“She and Ms Heard’s ability to speak to one another stopped not long after this.”
Depp is suing The Sun over an April 2018 article that said he was a “wife-beater,” a claim which he denies — and instead says “sociopathic” Heard was the violent party in their tumultuous and ultimately unsuccessful high profile marriage. Daily Mast
