Actor Harrison Ford is under investigation by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) after a plane he was piloting crossed the runway at Hawthorne Airport in Los Angeles last week.

The actor, 77, allegedly crossed the runway despite receiving radio instructions to stay back as another aircraft was landing.

According to a representative of the Indiana Jones star, the incident only happened because of the actor’s misunderstanding of the instructions.

In March 2015, the actor sustained serious injuries after crash-landing a refurbished World War II training fighter.

“He immediately acknowledged the mistake and apologized to ATC for the error,” according to the statement from publicist Ina Treciokas.

”No one was injured and there was never any danger of a collision.”

A spokesperson for the FAA said the two planes were about 3,600 feet apart at the time of the incident.

“The FAA is investigating an incident in which the pilot of an Aviat Husky taxied across the runway at Hawthorne Municipal Airport Friday afternoon while another aircraft was performing a touch-and-go landing,” the FAA spokesperson said.

Last week’s incident is not Ford’s first airplane related mishap.
