Model and television personality Amber Rose has filed a negligence lawsuit against an exclusive Beverly Hills social club, alleging she suffered a concussion and ongoing health problems after a large holiday decoration reportedly fell from the ceiling and struck her.
The lawsuit, filed on Tuesday in Los Angeles County Superior Court, stems from an incident that allegedly occurred during a New Year’s Eve celebration at Gravitas in December 2024.
According to the complaint, Rose was seated beneath several oversized hanging holiday ornaments when one of the suspended decorative spheres allegedly became detached and hit her on the head without warning.
The lawsuit states that Rose did nothing to cause the ornament to fall and alleges the incident resulted from unsafe conditions at the venue.
She claims the impact left her immediately suffering from severe symptoms, including headaches, dizziness, blurred vision, nausea, neck pain and a temporary loss of consciousness or altered awareness.
Rose says she was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where doctors evaluated and treated her for a concussion and other injuries.
The lawsuit names Gravitas, its operator Moxie Restaurant Ventures, and Celios Designs, the company identified as having installed the holiday decorations.
According to the complaint, the defendants failed to properly design, install, inspect and maintain the oversized display, creating what Rose describes as a dangerous condition for guests attending the event.
The filing further alleges that the injuries have had long-term consequences.
Rose claims she continues to experience memory loss, vertigo, visual disturbances, sleep disruption, anxiety, fatigue and other cognitive and balance-related problems that have affected her daily life and overall wellbeing.
She is seeking compensation for medical expenses, lost income and future earning capacity, as well as damages for pain and suffering, emotional distress and other losses linked to the alleged incident.
In a statement provided to PEOPLE, Rose’s legal team said the lawsuit was filed only after careful consideration and expressed hope that the matter could be resolved without prolonged litigation. They added that they are prepared to pursue the case through the courts if a settlement cannot be reached.
At the time of publication, the defendants had not publicly responded to the allegations.
Rose, whose full name is Amber Rose Levonchuck, rose to prominence after appearing in Young Jeezy’s 2008 music video for “Put On,” featuring Kanye West.
She later built a successful career in modelling and television, founded the Los Angeles chapter of the SlutWalk movement, hosted The Amber Rose Show on VH1 and previously fronted the syndicated radio programme Loveline.
