Chris Tucker has revealed that he has been celibate for more than three years as he focuses on finding a wife and building a lasting relationship.
The surprising confession came during a recent stand-up performance in Las Vegas, where the Rush Hour star spoke candidly about his personal life while entertaining fans at The Wynn.
According to attendees at the show, Tucker told the audience that he has abstained from sex for over three years and is now determined to wait for marriage before becoming intimate again.
“Well, I’m celibate. I’ve been celibate for 3 years, but I’m really trying to get married. I give it to the love this time,” Tucker reportedly told the crowd.
The actor joked that many people struggle to believe his claim, including members of his own family.
“I’m serious. No one believes me,” he said, before recalling a conversation with his niece.
According to Tucker, his niece was more willing to believe in extraterrestrials than his commitment to celibacy.
“She believes in aliens, but she don’t believe I did that,” he joked.
The comedian also shared humorous stories about reactions he has received from women after telling them about his decision.
Tucker said one woman jokingly assumed he was offering something for sale.
“She said, ‘How much? How much … how much is it?’ I’m not selling it. I’m celibate! What is wrong with you people?” he laughed.
The actor continued mining laughs from the topic, joking that his extended period without romance had become so difficult that he had started flirting with virtual assistants such as Siri and Alexa.
The comments reportedly generated some of the loudest laughs of the evening from the audience.
Tucker has largely kept his private life out of the spotlight in recent years, making the candid discussion particularly surprising for fans.
The comedian and actor remains best known for his role alongside Jackie Chan in the hugely successful Rush Hour film franchise.
His remarks come as speculation continues to grow about a possible fourth instalment in the action-comedy series. Reports indicate Tucker is currently working through details surrounding a potential return for Rush Hour 4, a project long anticipated by fans.
For now, however, Tucker appears to be focused less on Hollywood blockbusters and more on finding the right person to share his future with.
