Manotas’ death was confirmed by her friend, Lorena Zuluaga Quintero, who paid tribute to the influencer in a heartfelt Facebook post on 11 July.

Known for sharing lifestyle content with more than 23,000 followers on Facebook, Manotas reportedly arrived at the beauty clinic at about 6am on 10 July.

According to local media reports, surveillance footage showed her leaving the premises around four hours later, when she was carried to a van by three people before being transported to a nearby medical facility.

She later died at the clinic.

Colombia’s Prosecutor’s Office said Manotas had visited the beauty clinic to undergo a liposuction procedure, according to local media reports.

Authorities are now investigating the establishment after reports emerged that it was allegedly operating without the licences required to perform medical procedures.

According to Colombia’s Health and Government Secretariats, the premises was not registered as a healthcare facility.

Following Manotas’ death, officials from the Health Secretariat, the Attorney General’s Office and the National Police raided the clinic on 10 July.

Investigators reportedly found evidence suggesting that medical procedures had continued to be carried out despite previous enforcement action.

The Health Secretariat said it had inspected the establishment in November and imposed mandatory health and safety measures against both the premises and the practitioner providing medical services because they lacked the necessary authorisation.

“These mandatory measures were intended to prevent risks to public health and remained in effect,” the Health Secretariat said in a statement.

“Despite this, they were violated by the continued carrying out of illegal activities at that location.”

The case has reignited concerns over illegal cosmetic surgery clinics operating in Colombia.

Bogotá Mayor Carlos Galán urged members of the public to report unlicensed aesthetic establishments.

“If you know of any illegal or clandestine aesthetic establishment, report it,” he wrote on X.

“These places cannot continue operating or claiming lives. We have strengthened the controls, but we need you to help us report them if you know of any such place.”

Although Galán did not mention Manotas by name, his appeal came shortly after news of her death emerged.

Tributes have continued to pour in from friends, relatives and followers, many remembering her as a kind-hearted woman whose positivity touched countless lives.

“You left an indelible mark on those of us whose paths crossed with yours in this life,” one friend wrote.

Another simply said: “Rest in peace. I will always remember you, my friend.”

The investigation into the circumstances surrounding Manotas’ death remains ongoing.
