Eccentric musician Willow Smith stopped singing to shave her head on stage during a Facebook Live event to mark the release of her new album.

On Friday the 20-year-old shaved her head while she performed her hit song ‘Whip My Hair’. Her performance marked the release of her new album ‘Lately I feel EVERYTHING’.

During the show she sat down on a stool and continued performing her 2010 hit single while her locks were shaved.

Speaking about the show, Willow said it was a ‘special moment’ for her. “This is such a special moment for me. Celebrating the release of my album with Travis Barker + Avril Lavigne. Thank you for coming on this journey with me.”

This is not the first time Willow has pulled such a stunt, in 2011 when she was just 11-year-old she shaved her head during a ‘Whip My Hair’ tour and got her dad Will Smith admitting that was a wake-up call for him as he’d been pushing his daughter to continue with the tour when she’d repeatedly expressed her wish to go back home.

He recalled in 2017, “We came downstairs and she had shaved her head bald. She shaved her head bald in the middle of her ‘whip my hair’ tour. I was like, ‘Oh Sh*t!’

“I’m looking at that girl and I’m like, ‘Got it. I understand. You will not have this trouble out of me ever again. Let’s go baby. We can go.”

Willow’s mother, Jada Pinkett Smith also debuted her bald head look on Instagram last week following her hair loss struggle. The actress said she was inspired by her daughter.

“Willow made me do it because it was time to let go,” she captioned the picture.
