While his bravado has been undiminished in the weeks since his release from prison, the legal representatives of controversial rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine are worried about his safety.

Tekashi, an asthma sufferer, has been as boisterous and confident as ever since his early release because of Covid-19 fears, engaging in spats with other musicians while maintaining his status as a prominent online troll.

However, his lawyers are singing from a different hymn book, with one of his legal representatives telling the New York Post that they were concerns about his future safety.

Tekashi had to move to another residence when a neighbor leaked the address of his first hideout post-jail, a rental in Lido Beach, LI, after Tekashi posted a photo of himself outside flashing fistfuls of cash.

“I’m concerned,” Dawn Florio, one of his lawyers, told The Post. “Lots of people condemn Danny for cooperating with the government. Even a young gang member who wants to make a name for himself could try something. He’s in great spirits but I won’t rest easy until he’s located in a different state with 24-hour security.”

Florio added that his mind would only be at rest after Tekashi moves away from New York.

“He’s in great spirits but I won’t rest easy until he’s located in a different state with 24-hour security,” he said.

Tekashi has come under fire from some members of the hip-hop community for snitching – a cardinal sin the world of rap music.

With a couple of record breaking hits since his release, including current Billboard number one Trollz, it seems rap fans have been willing to give him a pass for his transgressions.

“I assumed he was a dead man walking as soon as he got out,” an attorney for the Nine Trey Bloods, the gang whose members he ratted out, told the Post.

“But the fans are glorifying him. It used to be that a rat was the worst thing you could be . . . It’s not very Godfather-ish out there anymore.” Daily Mast
