Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford’s activism has earned the admiration of Roc Nation founder Jay-Z, with his recent fight for free meals for the disadvantaged in the UK actively backed by the hip-hop mogul’s management agency.
Rashford recently inspired a government U-turn after his appeal for free meals for poor families to be extended throughout the summer.
The 22-year-old succeeded in with his eloquent, heartfelt appeal, with Prime Minister Boris Johnson announcing a new £120 million ($150m) “Covid summer food fund.”

Rashford reportedly signed to Roc Nation in April and it now represents him in his philanthropic work as well as PR and marketing.
His brothers, Dane and Dwaine, still represent him as a footballer.
Rashford’s latest bit of philanthropic activism is said to have impressed Jay-Z, who is reportedly “extremely proud” of his change-inspiring actions.
“We don’t really consider ourselves a traditional agency – we really are a movement,” Michael Yormark, the president of Roc Nation Sports International and Co-CEO of Roc Nation Unified, told The Telegraph. He added that the organisation is “focused on protecting and defending those that can’t protect and defend themselves”.
Mr Yormark said the company had a much of an interest in the actions of their signees on the field as they were about their work off it.
“Companies today want to align with people that are passionate about community, that want to take a stand against injustice, and so we encourage all of our clients to be aggressive in this space.” Daily Mast
