Kim Kardashian has opened up about her infamous leaked bedroom video saying talking about it in the family reality show ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians really helped her ‘deal’ with the emotions that came with it.
Back in 2002 the 40-year-old filmed a sex tape with then boyfriend Ray J which was then released into the public domain in 2017 while Kim and her family were preparing to launch the first series of their reality show on E!
During an episode of the show her sister Kourtney Kardashian asked her why she agreed to film the video and in her response Kim said, “Because I was h**ny and I felt like it.”
And now Kim has revealed that talking about difficult subjects on the show has helped her to process events in her life.
Speaking during an interview with the Los Angeles Times Kim said, “I do think that, obviously, as producers, I’m sure they loved it. And loved (us) talking about the elephant in the room. And I probably wouldn’t have, unless it was for the show.
“Sometimes I feel like, OK, I know I should probably deal and get this over with. Someone’s gonna ask me, so I might as well just go ahead and do it.”
“In a way, filming has helped us deal with things, instead of sweeping them under the rug. At the end of the day, I was always open and honest and wanted to share whatever I was going through. I wasn’t gonna hold back,” she said.
The producer of the show Farnaz Farjam also spoke about the issue saying, “I remember Kim being conflicted about it, because she hated everything that was going on around that tape.
“We all talked about, ‘we just have to own all the controversy around this family’ and jumped in with both feet in the first episode. Then, the audience get to know them at a much deeper level than what’s been tabloid headlines.”
Last week Kim made headlines after she opened up about her she felt about her divorce with Kanye West saying she felt like a failure as she went through her third divorce.
