Ray J files for divorce from Princess Love months after her request to dismiss
Ray J has filed for divorce, only a few months after Princess Love first filed to end her marriage to her fellow “Love and Hip Hop: Hollywood” co-star.
The singer is also asking for joint custody of the couple’s two children: 9-month-old son Epik Ray, and daughter Melody Love, 2.
It was thought that the couple was now back in good books after seemingly picking up the pieces after Princess Love filed for divorce back in May.
Love then withdraw the filing, which had not been challenged by Ray J, in July.
“It’s a very difficult time for both Princess and Ray J and we are asking that we just let them have their privacy as they work through and deal with this very trying situation,” a rep for the couple told PEOPLE in May.
A heartfelt birthday message to Love from Ray J in July, had also given the impression that all was now well.
“Happy Birthday my love! I’m so happy and blessed to spend today with you and our family,” he wrote. “God is the greatest! Everybody pls wish my wife @princesslove #HAPPYBIRTHDAY.”
Ray J also spoke glowingly of his wife of four years just weeks after she had filed for divorce.
“Over these past few months, though, I’ve been at the studio locked in. I was at the studio right around when everything got locked down.
“Before I came home, I had to quarantine for 14 days. My wife has been supermom, and she wasn’t having that so she just wanted to make sure that I was good. We’re taking it one day at a time.”
