Rapper Kodak Black has revealed that he feels healthier, as he has now managed to control his use of prescription pills, which had turned into an addiction before he decided to change his ways.
Kodak said he had drastically reduced his intake of percocets since he was released from prison in February.
Kodak was arrested in December after police found him asleep at the wheel with white powder around his mouth.
Although authorities said the powder initially tested positive for cocaine, a lab test later revealed it was oxycodone, for which the rapper had a prescription obtained in 2022.
Kodak was later freed after a federal judge sentenced him to time served for a probation violation, though a drug trafficking case from 2022 remains ongoing.
During an Instagram Live session, Kodak said he had gone a long way in getting rid of his addiction to prescription drugs.
“I remember a point in my life when I was chewing a lot of Percs,” he said. “Bro, I’m proud of myself. I’ve never been this happy in my life, bro. I don’t know where this came from, what the f..k going on.
“I ain’t even going to say I’m anti-Perc. Like, I never took a Perc since I been home. But bro, my dosage so low that I can’t believe it myself. Man, I’m telling y’all, bro.”
He continued: “Before I just went to jail, bro, I was taking… I can talk about this because it’s my testimony. Bro, I’m hollering at y’all, ain’t no shame in my shit. I was taking, bro, at least 100 Percs. Bro, my average was 40 Percocets.
“I’m telling y’all this man. I ain’t know, to the point where I look at this shit and be like, what the fuck was wrong with me, bruh? I listen to my music and be like, bro, what the f..k, fam?” he said.
