Celebrity couple Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez have confirmed their breakup saying they are ‘better as friends’.

Earlier last month the couple admitted that they were trying to work on their relationship and were taking each day as it comes. They have now decided to go their separate ways and have insisted they will stay as friends.

In a joint statement Lopez and Rodriguez said, “We have realized we are better as friends and look forward to remaining so.

“We will continue to work together and support each other on our shared businesses and projects. We wish the best for each other and each other’s children.”

They also revealed that they will both focus on their children –Jennifer’s 13-year-old twins Emme and Max and Alex’s daughter Natasha, 16, and 12-year-old Ella.

A source close to both of them claims they haven’t really broken up but are just going through a rough patch.

“They never officially broke up and talked about it but are still together. They hit a rough patch. But they were not broken up… she’s working in the Dominican Republic and he’s in Miami so it’s tough seeing each other especially with quarantining and Covid but they want to try to stay together,” said the source.

The couple has had to postpone their wedding twice due to the ongoing covid-19 pandemic. Alex admitted that he couldn’t wait to marry Jennifer as he quipped ‘third time’s the charm’ as they prepared for the big day.
