“Saved by the Bell’ star Dustin Diamond diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer

“Saved by the Bell’ star Dustin Diamond has been diagnosed with stage 4 Cancer.

Diamond who played Samuel in the hit sitcom “Saved by the Bell” in the 1990s was hospitalized over the weekend in Florida. His Facebook page revealed that he was undergoing ‘medical tests.

Roger Paul who is Diamond’s representative has confirmed that the movie star was diagnosed with cancer.

“We are still doing more tests, once we know, we will have an idea of how to approach it. Right now it is a very serious situation. I’m asking everyone for thoughts and prayers,” Paul said.

“At this time we can confirm that Dustin does have cancer.

“We ask everyone to respect Dustin’s privacy during this difficult time. All positivity and prayers are appreciated,” read a statement on Dustin’s page.

Entertainment weekly has confirmed that Dustin’s cancer is Stage 4 and he is already undergoing chemotherapy treatment.

Diamond made his breakthrough in 1989 as Samuel “Screech” in the sitcom. He appeared as the geeky best friend of protagonist Zack Morris (Mark Paul Gosselaar) at Bayside High.

Since his breakthrough he has appeared on several TV series. He also wrote a 2009 “Saved by the Bell “memoir, titled “Behind the Bell,” recounting his experience working on the show.

In 2015 he was convicted of two misdemeanors, carrying a concealed weapon and disorderly conduct, linked to a barroom fight in Wisconsin.
