Fast spitting rapper Busta Rhymes has opened up about his health condition caused by weight gain that almost killed him.

Revealing his ‘messy truth’ in an interview on Messy Truth with Van Jones, Busta Rhymes spoke of the hard times when he was in a critical health condition. He opened up about the time he realized something was wrong with his health condition and when he couldn’t breathe properly.

‘I’m in the car and I go to sleep, and I’m snoring crazy. And it gets to this point where I’m trying to inhale, and I’m not able to inhale,” said the rapper.

“My son got so scared that he spoke to the security about the fears he had. My son was so scared of how he was going to hurt my feelings by having this conversation with me directly that he had to tell someone else to tell me. That she*t f**ked me up- I just felt like I was letting my son down, I felt like I was letting a lot of people down.”

Busta’s weight gain led him to developing polyps on his throat. He already was weighing 340 pounds.

According to Busta’s doctor the condition grew so much that it was blocking 90 percent of his breathing passage. He was told that he would die that day.

“He said, ‘Your polyps grew so big that it blocked 90 percent of your breathing passage and if I send you home tonight and you sleep under AC and catch a cold and that last 10 percent of your breathing passage gets blocked up… you are going to die tonight.”

Busta says he burst into tears after hearing the news. “I just started crying.”
