Rap mogul Kanye West on Monday made clear his admiration for wife Kim Kardashian West, congratulating her for attaining billionaire status after the sale off of 20% of her KKW Beauty brand to multinational beauty company Coty Inc.
The deal values the four-year-old brand at $1 billion, meaning Kim, who also owns mobile game “Kim Kardashian: Hollywood” and her own shapewear brand Skims, is now worth about $900 million.
In a statement announcing the deal, Coty chairperson and chief executive Peter Hart was full of praise for Kardashian, who he acknowledged as a ”true modern-day global icon”.
“She is a visionary, an entrepreneur, a mother, a philanthropist, and through social media has an unparalleled ability to connect with people around the world.
“This influence, combined with Coty’s leadership and deep expertise in prestige beauty will allow us to achieve the full potential of her brands.”
Not be outdone was Kanye who posted an endearing message on twitter which was cryptically accompanied by a picture of vegetables and flowers.
“I am so proud of my beautiful wife Kim Kardashian West for officially becoming a billionaire,” Kanye wrote.
“You’ve weathered the craziest storms and now God is shining on you and our family. So blessed this is still life,” he captioned. “So I made you this still life. We love you so much.”
