Rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine had to be whisked away from his rented property after his address was compromised by an online leak that led fans to his doorstep.

It is speculated that fans were able to determine the rapper’s address by a boastful post made earlier on Instagram in which he can be seen posing with two big stacks of cash.

However, according to TMZ, the rapper’s lawyer claimed a person who lives across the street from him posted a photo of the rapper standing on a balcony along with his address.

A video circulated on Twitter reportedly showed the rapper on his balcony, which prompted his address to be shared online. Although he is not on the witness protection program, it is thought that the GOOBA rapper is not yet out of danger.

Tekashi, 24, (real name Daniel Hernandez) was arrested in 2018 on charges related to his time in the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods gang. He faced up to life in prison and pleaded guilty to charges he faced in January 2019.

In September, he testified against members of his former gang. A federal judge sentenced him to 24 months in prison, though he had already served more than half of his sentence.

On Friday, the rapper broke Instagram viewing records when he went live to explain his actions.

“Y’all could never cooperate with the government and come back,” Hernandez said in an Instagram Live video on Friday. “Y’all could never do that. I’m a living legend at the age of 24 years old.”

While he seems to be as popular as ever, he has run foul of some figures in hip-hop who are finding it hard to come to terms with a “snitch” in their midst.

“They gotta stop pushing this [rat],” Rap veteran Snoop Dogg commented on an Instagram post by TIDAL’s chief content officer, Elliott Wilson.

“All these media outlets making snitching cool. I’m old school. F** 69 and everybody pushing his line right now all New York GZ feel me on this and if you don’t f** u2.”
