Tyra Banks has owned up to problematic clips from her reign as the host of America’s Next Top Model, saying she agreed that some of the moments from the show were insensitive.
Banks has come under increasing scrutiny over the last few days, with critics piling on her after a series of clips showing her less than exemplary behavior as the modeling reality show’s host started doing the rounds on Twitter.
The show ran for 24 seasons with Banks hosting in all but one of them.

In one clip, Banks tells contestant Dani Evans that she will never attain the coveted “CoverGirl” status with a gap in her teeth.
“So Danielle, you went to the dentist but you refused to have your gap closed,” Banks says to Evans. “Do you really think you can have a CoverGirl contract with a gap in your mouth?”
Evans ended up winning the season and went on modeling for brands like CoverGirl and Sephora and magazines such as Elle and Essence.

She posted a video on Instagram, explaining how the viral moment was played up for TV, with producers keeping her ignorant of the fact that Banks was unhappy about her teeth.
Another moment from the show that has come under the spotlight is a highly questionable photo shoot in Season 13 led by Banks who had the models darken their skin tones to portray different races, raising racial questions to some viewers.
On Friday, Banks took to Twitter to acknowledge her missteps.
“Been seeing the posts about the insensitivity of some past ANTM moments and I agree with you. Looking back, those were some really off choices. Appreciate your honest feedback and am sending so much love and virtual hugs,” she tweeted.
