Controversial rapper Playboi Carti, the 23-year-old boyfriend of fellow rapper Iggy Azalea, was arrested in Georgia on drug and gun-related charges.
Carti whose real name is Jordan Terrell Carter – was pulled over in his black Lamborghini Huracan on Thursday. The other man in the car was 21-year-old Jaylan Malik Tucker.
According to the TMZ website the car was pulled over because it had expired tags. It was then that the police discovered drugs and three firearms in the vehicle.
Clayton County Sheriff’s Office posted pictures on Twitter. Displayed on the hood of his car were several firearms, packets of drugs and metal boxes with pills.
Sources who spoke to Daily Mast said deputies found three firearms, 12 bags of marijuana, xanax, codeine, and oxycodone in the vehicle.
Police also confiscated multiple identification cards, a wallet and a phone.
Carti who has enjoyed an on-off relationship Australian rapper Iggy Azalea was able to post bond and was released on Friday morning. His colleague Tucker remains locked up.
Carti is not new to controversy. In January 2019, the rapper was convicted for assaulting a tour bus driver in Scotland.
Before that, he was arrested on domestic abuse charges after he allegedly dragged his girlfriend at the time out of a Los Angeles International Airport terminal by her backpack.
The incident happened in July 2017 but he did not face any charges in court.
