American comedian and political commentator Hasan Minhaj and his wife have a new addition — and he’s a beautiful distraction from the current health crisis.
On Thursday night, the host of “Patriot Act” posted on his Instagram account that he and his wife, Beena Patel, were welcoming their baby son to the world.
“Even in these crazy times there are so many beautiful moments,” he wrote. “Welcome to the world little guy.”
“The Minhaj family grows, and according to Beena it’s done growing. But ya never know, shooters shoot,” he joked.
This is the second child for Hasan and Beena, who also have a daughter born in April 2018. They have been married since 2015.
Minhaj got his big break when he was hired by Jon Stewart as a correspondent for Comedy Central’s The Daily Show in 2014.
In May 2017, Netflix aired his first solo stand-up special called Hasan Minhaj: Homecoming King.
In October 2018, his own weekly comedy show Patriot Act premiered on Netflix with an initial order of 32 episodes.
Netflix has greenlit seven new episodes scheduled to start airing on March 29.
