American comedian Nick Cannon has announced that his five-month-old son Zen has died after being diagnosed with a brain tumour.
Canon announced the passing of his youngest son during an episode of his show – The Nick Cannon Show. Zen was Nick’s fourth baby in six months. Nick welcomed Zen with model Alyssa Scott on 23 June.
In an emotional episode of his show the comedian said Zen always had breathing difficulties but he didnt think too much of it at first but doctors later found that he had fluid building in the back of his head.
They then found a malignant tumor and he had to have surgery because it was cancer in the brain.
“Over the weekend, I lost my youngest son to a condition called hydrocephalus… brain cancer. It’s tough. And I have my therapist here, who’s been helping us through it,” he said.
The Wild N Out presenter explained that the situation got worse around Thanksgiving.
“We got to spend the weekend with him. I said I feel like I want to go to the water, to the ocean. I didn’t know I was going go handle today, but I just really wanted to grieve with my family and people who love me,” explained Cannon.
“I felt like I will go through it to grow through it, I have so much faith in the Lord and faith in God.”
The singer also revealed he was preparing to fly back to New York for his show but he had to turn back after heading to the airport.
