Tobey Maguire took an unexpected starring role at his former wife Jennifer Meyer’s wedding by officiating her marriage to music executive Geoffrey Ogunlesi.
The Spider-Man actor stood before the couple as they exchanged vows at the Four Seasons Resort Lanai in Hawaii on Saturday.
Photographs from the ceremony show Maguire smiling and reading from a sheet of paper before Meyer and Ogunlesi kissed beneath an elaborate floral display.
Wedding follows finalisation of divorce
The ceremony took place only weeks after Maguire and Meyer formally finalised their divorce on 21 September.
The former couple married in 2007 before announcing their separation in 2016. Meyer filed for divorce in October 2020, but the process remained unresolved for several years.
Despite the end of their marriage, Maguire and Meyer have maintained a close relationship while raising their two children, Ruby, 19, and Otis, 17.
Both children participated in their mother’s wedding, underlining the blended family’s unusually friendly relationship.
Meyer has previously praised Maguire as an excellent father and former husband, explaining that they continued celebrating holidays and important family occasions together after separating.
Hollywood stars attend Hawaiian ceremony
The ceremony attracted a guest list filled with prominent figures from entertainment and business.
Leonardo DiCaprio attended with his girlfriend, Vittoria Ceretti, while Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez Bezos were also reportedly present.
Other guests included Courteney Cox, Kate Hudson and celebrity stylist Rachel Zoe.
The wedding was held at the luxury Four Seasons Resort Lanai, which overlooks Hulopoe Bay on the Hawaiian island.
Jennifer Meyer and Geoff Ogunlesi welcome daughter
Meyer, 49, and Ogunlesi, 34, reportedly began dating in 2023 and became engaged the following year.
They welcomed a daughter in May, making her Meyer’s third child and Ogunlesi’s first.
Ogunlesi is a music executive who previously worked for Warner Music Group and 300 Entertainment. He now runs his own entertainment and management company, The Ogunlesi Group.
He is the son of Nigerian lawyer and investment banker Adebayo Ogunlesi, the founder of Global Infrastructure Partners and a member of BlackRock’s board.
Meyer has previously said that Ogunlesi and Maguire share a warm relationship, allowing their blended family arrangement to work.
Maguire’s decision to officiate the wedding provided a public demonstration of that friendship, bringing the former spouses together for another major family occasion just weeks after legally ending their marriage.
