Chris Brown has been accused of making death threats against his former partner’s boyfriend and the man’s twin brother amid an escalating child-support dispute.
Diamond Brown, the mother of the singer’s four-year-old daughter Lovely, reportedly made the allegations in newly filed court documents. Chris has denied harassing her.
Diamond alleges harassment after split
According to the filing, Diamond claims Chris became “extremely angry” whenever she dated other men after their relationship ended approximately two years ago.
She alleges that the singer threatened to kill her most recent boyfriend and subsequently made further threats involving the man and his twin brother. Diamond also claims unidentified third parties became involved in threatening or intimidating behaviour.
Diamond alleges that a previous relationship also ended because of harassment she attributes to Chris. She claims his alleged conduct has left her feeling unable to move forward with her personal life and as though she is “living under siege.”
The allegations have not been tested or established in court.
Chris Brown denies allegations
Chris has denied harassing Diamond.
An email attributed to his lawyer and included in reports about the proceedings reportedly rejects the accusations and asks Diamond’s legal team to provide specific details so they can be addressed.
Diamond says she attempted to deal with the alleged behaviour through lawyers because she wanted to avoid applying for a domestic violence restraining order. She is not requesting such an order in the current filing.
Child-support and custody battle
The accusations have emerged during an ongoing dispute concerning Lovely’s custody and financial support.
Diamond reportedly filed a case in May seeking primary custody of their daughter. Chris opposed the request and has sought joint legal and physical custody.
Diamond claims the singer currently pays her $1,500 a month and alleges that the amount is insufficient to meet their daughter’s needs. She is seeking additional financial information from Chris as part of the proceedings.
She also claims that Chris has not asked to see Lovely for approximately six or seven months. That allegation has not been independently verified.
Chris and Diamond welcomed Lovely in January 2022. She is one of the singer’s four children.
The court has not ruled on Diamond’s latest allegations, and the wider custody and child-support case remains ongoing.
