Dwayne Johnson reveals secret cancer scare he hid from his wife

Dwayne Johnson has revealed he secretly endured a cancer scare without telling his wife or family until doctors confirmed he was in the clear.

The Hollywood superstar opened up about the frightening health ordeal in a new interview with Esquire, explaining that it began when he discovered a painful lump on one of his testicles while taking a shower.

Concerned by what he found, Johnson scheduled a doctor’s appointment just three days later.

The actor said doctors initially believed the issue was likely epididymitis, a condition involving inflammation of a tube located behind the testicle. However, they also warned him that cancer could not immediately be ruled out.

Johnson was told he needed an ultrasound as soon as possible.

The timing couldn’t have been worse.

At the time, the actor was in the middle of a packed promotional schedule for an upcoming *Jumanji* film and was unable to undergo testing immediately.

As a result, he spent the next 24 hours wondering whether he might have cancer while carrying on with public appearances, interviews and speeches.

“So I had to live with that for those twenty-four hours, not knowing,” Johnson told the magazine.

Despite the fear and uncertainty, the former WWE champion decided not to tell his wife, Lauren Hashian.

“I didn’t want to worry her before I knew if it was anything to even worry about,” he explained.

Johnson and Hashian married in 2019 and share two daughters, Jasmine and Tiana. He is also father to Simone Johnson from his previous marriage to Dany Garcia.

Thankfully, the actor later learned the lump was not cancerous.

“I’m fine now,” Johnson said. “But I didn’t know that then, and the thing was really painful.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Johnson shared an unexpected secret behind his fitness routine, revealing that he uses ChatGPT to help create workout programs.

According to the actor, the AI-generated training plans have been remarkably effective.

“Within three seconds it comes back with a training program that’s lights-out, pencils-down spectacular,” he said.

For Johnson, the experience served as a reminder that even one of Hollywood’s toughest action stars can face moments of uncertainty and fear behind the scenes.
