Actor Kevin Hart has seemingly taken the high road against fellow comedian Katt Williams, saying he is cheering his adversary on from afar despite the recent comments he made about him.

Hart was the subject of some scathing remarks from Williams during a viral interview with podcast host Shannon Sharpe recently.

In an interview that rocked the world of comedy, Williams was particularly harsh in his appraisal of Hart as a comedian, claiming that he had not earned his success and was acting as a gatekeeper in the industry.

In an interview with Wall Street Journal Magazine, Hart said he did not have any ill-feelings towards Williams despite the interview.

“It’s just that. It’s entertainment,” Hart told the outlet when asked about Williams’ criticisms of Hart’s career choices.

“If that’s what he fuels himself off, God bless him. Good for him. I hope he gets all that he needs and he wants, and I’m here cheering for him from afar.”

“That’s my real energy. I really mean it!” he added. “That’s how happy and secure I am with my career and my life.”

During the interview with Sharpe, Williams also claimed that Hart had been snatching roles initially meant for him in the last few years.

“For a five year period, every single movie that Kevin Hart did was a movie that had been on my desk that all I had said was ‘Just can we take some of this step and fetching s— out and then I can do it?’ “Williams said during that podcast.

He suggested that Hart routinely took movie roles from him after Williams would ask for script revisions before signing on to a project.

“And me saying that and them going ‘oh yeah, no problem’ and then going to give it to this other guy and having him do it just like it was and acting like I’m a bad person because I keep standing on my standards,” he added at the time.

“It’s interesting, but I wouldn’t change it for the world – again, I’m on the winning side of these decisions.”
