Two years after her divorce from Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, MacKenzie Scott, one of the richest women in the world (worth $54.9 billion) has married Seattle Science teacher Dan Jewett.

Scott was previously married to Bezos for 25 years but got divorced in 2019.

The Philanthropist has found love in a science teacher, Jewett who is a teacher at Lakeside, an exclusive north Seattle private school that’s best known as the alma mater of Microsoft co-Founders Bill Gates and Paul Allen.

The news of her marriage to Dan Jewett was revealed via the Giving Pledge philanthropy website.

Jewett said, “It is strange to be writing a letter indicating I plan to give away the majority of my wealth during my lifetime, as I have never sought to gather any kind of wealth required to feel like saying such a thing would have particular meaning.

“I have been a teacher for the majority of my life, as well as a grateful student of the generosity around of those around me. This has meant doing my best to follow their example by passing on resources of all kinds- from time, to energy, to material possession- when I have had them to give.

“And now, in a stroke of happy coincidence, I am married to one of the most generous and kind people I know- and joining her in a commitment to pass on an enormous financial wealth to serve others.”

Scott’s divorce from Bezos was made official in 2019 with a settlement of $38 billion making her the third richest woman in the world.

To date Scott has increased her net worth to $54.9 billion and she’s still the third richest woman in the world. Bezos has congratulated the new couple and said he is ‘happy and excited for both of them’

“Dan is such a great guy, and I am happy and excited for the both of them,” Mr Bezos said in a statement.
