NFL star Stefon Diggs has broken his silence on his relationship with Cardi B after a video of the pair appearing to argue outside a Maryland coffee shop sparked widespread speculation online.
The viral footage led fans to question whether the couple had suffered another breakup, but Diggs insists there is no bad blood between them.
Speaking to TMZ, the free-agent wide receiver downplayed the incident, suggesting that the exchange had been blown out of proportion.
“What argument? I don’t even think that was an argument,” Diggs said, noting that he remained calm throughout the interaction.
When told that Cardi appeared visibly upset in the video, Diggs shrugged off the suggestion, saying: “That’s okay … women get like that sometimes.”
The football star maintained that he and the Grammy-winning rapper are “great” despite the online speculation.
However, when asked directly whether they were back together, Diggs stopped short of confirming a reconciliation.
“That’s my child’s mother. I love her to death,” he said. “You have to ask her.”
The comments have added another twist to the high-profile relationship, which has experienced several ups and downs over the past year.
Reports earlier this year suggested the pair had temporarily split after rumours of infidelity surfaced, with speculation that a planned proposal ahead of the Super Bowl had been called off.
Despite the reported breakup, the two have continued to maintain a close relationship while co-parenting their son.
Last month, fans were surprised when Cardi and Diggs reunited publicly at a Mother’s Day event organised through the NFL player’s charitable foundation. The pair appeared affectionate throughout the event, fuelling rumours that they had rekindled their romance.
Those rumours intensified further when Diggs was spotted backstage with their son during a recent stop on Cardi’s tour.
The latest controversy emerged after paparazzi captured the pair in what appeared to be a heated discussion outside a coffee shop and gym in Maryland.
Cardi later addressed the incident herself, offering a humorous explanation for her mood.
“Sometimes I forget I’m a celebrity,” she wrote on social media. “Damn y’all ain’t never cuss your babydad out when you hungry?”
The rapper’s light-hearted response quickly went viral, with many fans praising her honesty and relatability.
Cardi B and Diggs reportedly began dating in 2025 and made their relationship Instagram official last year.
While neither has formally confirmed where things stand romantically, Diggs’ latest comments suggest the pair remain on good terms despite ongoing speculation about their future.
Away from his personal life, Diggs says he is concentrating on football as he weighs up his next move in the NFL. The veteran receiver is currently a free agent and says he remains focused on training while evaluating his options for the upcoming season.
