Chris Brown is pushing back against a custody request filed by the mother of his youngest daughter, asking a court to grant him joint custody instead of limited visitation rights.
According to reports, Diamond Brown recently petitioned a Los Angeles court for sole legal and physical custody of the former couple’s 4-year-old daughter, Lovely Symphani Brown. In her filing, Diamond proposed that the Grammy-winning singer be granted visitation rather than shared custody.
Brown has now responded by seeking joint legal and physical custody of the child.

Court documents reportedly show that the singer also wants both parties to cover their own legal expenses. Diamond had previously requested that Chris be ordered to pay the costs associated with the custody proceedings.
The legal dispute follows a series of public exchanges between the two parents on social media.
In recent weeks, Diamond accused Brown of attempting to interfere in her personal life by allegedly trying to drive away her new boyfriend. The claims sparked further online drama when Brown’s current partner, Jada Wallace, entered the conversation and accused Diamond of preventing Chris from spending time with their daughter.

Tensions escalated further after Diamond appeared to suggest she was prepared to confront Wallace directly.
The custody battle comes during a busy period in Brown’s personal life. He and Wallace recently welcomed a baby boy, their first child together, in late April.
Brown is also father to 12-year-old Royalty Brown, whom he shares with former model Nia Guzman, and son Aeko Catori Brown, who was born in 2019 during his relationship with Ammika Harris.
The custody case involving Lovely Symphani remains ongoing.
