Tiger Woods former mistress Rachel Uchitel has revealed how she called the golfer’s wife Elin Nordegren to convince her that she was not sexually involved him days before their affair was exposed.

In 2009 Uchitel was among the dozens of women identified as Woods’ mistresses. She then lifted the lid on her relationship with the golfer on Sunday in part two of the HBO documentary Tiger.

Uchitel says Woods made desperate efforts to prevent his wife from discovering his infidelity as media outlets were close to exposing it. She says Woods connected her to his wife in November after she joined him at the Australian Masters.

“We had an extensive, 30-minute conversation, Elin and I, convincing her that I was not having a sexual relationship with Tiger,” said Uchitel.

“We talked about how I knew Tiger, how I knew his friends, how I knew his friends, how and why I was in Australia.

Soon after her call with Woods’ wife, it was published by a media outlet that Uchitel was involved in an affair with the golf pro but she said:

‘The story came out and nobody looked at it. Between the stupid call story and phone call with Elin, I remember thinking, ‘Oh my God, we’re gonna fly right over this,” she said.

Few days later Nordegren confronted Woods about his infidelity and chased him out of their home then smashed his SUV with a golf club on Thanksgiving.

Uchitel said she thought she had convinced Woods’ wife that she was merely friends with Tiger, but it seems the published story on Tiger’s adultery got the worst of his wife.

In the documentary, 45-year-old Uchitel says she wanted to set the record straight after spending a decade being known as “Tiger Woods mistress’

“I have stayed quiet about this story but at this point I have nothing left to lose. My name hasn’t lost the stigma at all.”

She also recounted how she first met Woods while working at an exclusive nightclub in New York.

‘As I went to leave he took my phone number and the car probably hadn’t even gotten to the light at the corner, he started texting me,” she said.

“He said something like, ‘When can I see you again?’ it was intimidating, this was Tiger Woods. I knew he was married, I knew he had responsibilities. He said. ‘I want you to fly to Orlando and I’ll come see you there.”

According to Uchitel, the pair first had sex when they met in Orlando.

“I remember thinking how am I ever going to be with a mere mortal again because so many people put him on such a pedestal and here he was in my bed, and he was my Tiger,” she said.

Reflecting on their relationship, Uchitel said they ‘really enjoyed being with each other’

‘He had trouble sleeping and would have to take Ambien. I’d sit next to him for hours while he’d fall asleep next to me and when he got up he allowed himself to be a little kid.

“It sounds kind of odd. He would eat cereal and he’d watch his cartoons and he was like a fountain, he wanted to talk and talk and talk.” She added.

Uchitel says Woods also spoke a lot about his childhood and his father’s obsession to turn him into just the world’s best golfer, but a Gandhi-like figure who would transcend the sport and bring joy to the world.

“He told me a lot about his childhood, his dad and he was sick of trying to hide who he was but he was so scared of the real Tiger not living up to the Tiger that everybody else thinks he is.

“One day I asked him why he didn’t check in at home with Elin. He said she doesn’t ask questions like you, she not like you.

“It occurred to me he wanted someone to check in with. I asked him a million questions and he wanted to give every single detail he hadn’t been able to say in years or ever.” She said.

Their affair then became public after Woods invited Uchitel to the Australian Masters telling her, “I can’t win if you’re not here.”

“This man that everybody wanted a piece of only wanted me. That’s the biggest “I love you” you could hear.” She said.

News outlet, the National Enquirer which had been monitoring Woods for months had a reporter which followed up Uchitel into the elevator and watched her go into Wood’s suite which was proof enough for the story to be published.

Tiger put Uchitel on the phone with his wife and convinced her they were not sexually involved and that they were mere friends.

On Thanksgiving when Uchitel was texting Tiger on how they had survived the saga she got a text from him saying: ‘you were the only one I ever loved’ she felt that ‘things never been better’ between them, she recalled.

Picking up the phone, Uchitel answered with, ‘Hey Babe’ to her surprise it was Nordegren, Woods’ wife who said to her, ‘I knew it was you’

Tiger and Nordegren got into an argument that resulted in Woods being chased out of their home and his wife smashing his SUV with a golf club.

The couple married in 2004 with two young children divorced and Woods had to pay $100million in settlement and went into rehab for sex addiction.
