Trey Songz was arrested for trespassing, resisting arrest and assaulting a police officer during an American football game between Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills on Sunday (24 January).

Songz whose real name is Tremaine Aldon Neverson was taken into custody after the incident.

According to TMZ a cop got physical with Songz when the star was being hackled by fans in the stand and he asked them to be quiet. The cop got physical on the star without provocation.

Onlookers say Trey Songz acted in self-defense. A video posted by TMZ shows Songz punching the officer in the head and trying to get him in a headlock before being detained.

Trey was then arrested and accused of trespassing, resisting arrest and assaulting a police officer.

The ‘Na Na’ hit maker revealed that he had tested positive for coronavirus in October 2020.

“Here with a very important message to let you know I tested positive for Covid-19. I’ve taken many tests as I’ve been out protesting, food drives, of cause I have a very young son at home, so I get tested periodically and this time it unfortunately came back positive.

“I will be taking it seriously. I will be self-quarantining, I will be in my house until I see a negative sign,” he said in a video message on Instagram.

In March Songz was arrested on allegations of domestic violence, he was however released from custody on $50,000 bail.
