Rapper DaBaby’s older brother Glen Johnson commits suicide
US rapper DaBaby’s older brother Glen Johnson reportedly committed suicide on Tuesday in Charlotte, North Carolina. A video appears to show him crying while in a car and holding a gun.
It’s now been confirmed he died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. In the video clip that was posted to Instagram, Johnson said he was “tired of living” and had been wronged a lot in the past.
He directed a lot of venom and frustration with life towards his famous brother DaBaby where he said “you think cause you famous? Do what you do. I’m at peace, so you be at peace.”
DaBaby has meanwhile responded saying “Long Live My Brother,” on his Instagram bio as well as posting a video of himself seated in a car smoking weed before the camera pans to the sky.
He also shared lyrics from the intro track on his album “KIRK,” which mentions Johnson.
“My brother be thinkin’ that we don’t love him and let him struggle like we ain’t family/Like I won’t give up all I got to see you happy, n*gga,” DaBaby raps in the song. He then captioned the story: “I would’ve gave up all I had to see you happy n*gga.”
It was only last week that DaBaby took to social media to reflect on his father passing away.
“After losing my pops unexpectedly a couple weeks after popping as a mainstream artist I numbed out ALL feelings,” he tweeted. “Wins felt the same way losses did, like nothing.
