Empire star Terrence Howard’s battle with ex-wife Michelle Ghent continues in court, as she presses him for the $1.3m she says he owes her from their divorce.

In court documents responding to a suit by 20th Century Fox against her, Howard and his company Universal Bridges and Michelle, Ghent accused him of using dirty tactics to make sure that she did not get what was owed to her.

Last year, a Los Angeles judge ruled that Howard owes second wife Ghent $263,137 in back spousal support and another $1,055,970 due to his surge in income playing patriarch Lucious Lyon on his hit Fox show, Empire.

Subsequently, Ghent had asked 20th Century Fox to forward monies owed to him from his work on Empire to her. However, Howard claims he has appealed last year’s ruling hence it should not affect the payment of his Empire money.

Ghent, in her latest court filing, claims that Howard’s company is “knowingly and unreasonably delayed in asserting the cause of action contained in its cross-complaint, without good cause and under circumstances permitting and requiring diligence, and thereby prejudiced Michelle.”

Howard and Ghent were married in January 2010. She filed for divorce a year later.

Ghent has accused Howard of domestic violence and infidelity and won a restraining order against the “Hustle & Flow” star with claims he punched and choked her during an attempted reconciliation in Costa Rica in July 2013.

Howard accused Ghent of trying to extort him after their split, but Ghent denied any wrongdoing and ultimately prevailed.
