Tamar Braxton reportedly alluded to her alleged suicide attempt in a message sent to various family members on Thursday, hours prior to her hospitalization.
In the message obtained by The Blast, the 43-year-old reality star lamented about being a ‘slave’ and suggested that the ‘only way out’ of her situation was ‘death.’
‘I am a slave. I do not own my life. My stories. My pictures. My thoughts or beliefs. I’ve asked my massa to free me. I’m threatened and punished for it.
The singer and reality TV star was rushed to hospital after being found unresponsive by her boyfriend, with fears that she might have intentionally overdosed on drugs and alcohol.
The LAPD confirmed receiving a call about a 43-year-old woman on at 9:45 on Thursday. Tamar was staying in the Ritz Carlton residences in downtown LA with boyfriend David Adefeso. He is thought to be the one who made the call after discovering the songbird.
A rep for Braxton told The Blast that Tamar had been through tough times on the day in question. It is yet unclear what that refers to.
“Tamar has had a very tough and emotional day — more information will be coming in the next few days. Please pray for her.”
Adefeso and Tamar, the joint host of a YouTube show, Coupled and Quarantined, were set to present another edition on Thursday but that was postponed.
“Hello Ya’ll Unfortunately, Your girl Tamar is under the weather today and not feeling well so we need to postpone today’s show (Don’t worry it’s not Covid),” a message on their page said.
“We’re sad because we had a great show lined up for you today, but next week’s show is going to be even bigger and better. so sorry for the inconvenience, we know many of you look forward to the show every week. we’ll make it up to you next week.”
