Rapper Tory Lanez was the one who shot Megan Thee Stallion inside the SUV from which he was eventually arrested from on Sunday morning.
While reports after the incident initially indicated that Megan had cut her feet on broken glass after a party that ended in a heated dispute at the Hollywood Hills, the rapper went on to dispute that account in an Instagram post.
“On Sunday morning, I suffered gunshot wounds, as a result of a crime that was committed against me and done with the intention to physically harm me,” she wrote.
“I was never arrested, the police officers drove me to the hospital where I underwent surgery to remove the bullets.
“I’m incredibly grateful to be alive and that I’m expected to make a full recovery, but it was important for me to clarify the details about this traumatic night.”
Now Page Six is reporting that the shots that injured Meg were from Lanez who reacted after she and a friend said they wanted out of the SUV they were driven in.
“Tory fired the shots from within the vehicle while Megan was outside trying to leave,” a source Page Six on Thursday. “There is video and the police are investigating. This is a case of a man physically harming and abusing a woman.”
A spokesperson for LAPD would not confirm whether there was video submitted to the investigation, adding that any videos would “not be released until the case goes to court in order to protect the integrity of the case.”
“The detectives are seeking information regarding the shooting involving Daystar Peterson, and the investigation is still ongoing. I’m not privilege to what the detectives have right now,” the spokesperson added. Police would not say whether Lanez is a suspect.
