Producers of the Ellen DeGeneres Show have refuted reports that the show is about to be cancelled, amidst tanking ratings and allegations of the show host’s mistreatment of staffers.
There has been rumors from insiders that the syndicated show, which has been on air since 2003, is about to cancelled.
However, Telepictures Television, the production company behind the show, has denied the rumors.
“Telepictures can confirm it’s untrue,” representatives for the production company told Page Six.

The rumors come after The Sun reported that the show had shed 14 rating points. Allegations of staff mistreatment have plagued Degeneres recently.
In one instance, Tom Majercak told Fox News in an exclusive interview that he was selected to serve as DeGeneres’ executive protector at the 86th Academy Awards.
“I’m holding their hands and walking them through individuals and large groups of people. Ellen is the one person that I’ve been assigned to — and I’ve been assigned to quite a few celebrities — that has never taken the time to say hi to me,” Majercak claimed.
“It started going negatively when she introduced me to Ellen and Ellen pretty much just gave me a side glance out of her eye and didn’t even say ‘hello,’ or ‘thank you for protecting my mother, my wife and me,'” Majercak continued.
Meanwhile, more than 30 show staffers spoke up back in April, on anonymity, to Variety claiming that they were left in the dark about their pay and employment statuses on the show amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Producers however responded by saying that; ‘Our executive producers and Telepictures are committed to taking care of our staff and crew and have made decisions first and foremost with them in mind.’
Ellen – who Forbes reported is worth around $330 million – has also caught flak for tone deafness after joking that locking down in her opulent mansion was ‘like being in jail.’
