Empire star Bryshere Gray (Hakeem Lyon) may be forced to pay over $33 000 to his landlords for damage made on their property by his dog.
Payal Shah and Vinod Venugopal filed a suit against the actor in Chicago, accusing Gray and his dog of terrorizing the building, particularly, his apartment.
According to TMZ, the actor first started renting out a condo in a Chicago complex in the summertime of 2019.
The owners of the complex claimed that Gray’s dog, which he often left unattended, would urinate and defecate around the building, damaging the hardwood floors, stairs and other parts of the property.
They also claimed that Grey engaged in irresponsible anti-social behavior. The actor reportedly clogged toilets with condoms, jumped out of windows and smoked marijuana contravening the building’s rules.
The landlords want $26,120 for damage done to their property and an additional $7000 for attorney fees after initial overtures to Gray were rebuffed.
Charlie Mac, the actor’s manager, stated that Gray was diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder a few years ago, and some of the issues are to blame on that.
Expressing disappointment that the landlords had gone public with the issue before it was settled amicably between the two parties, Mac said that it’ll all be taken care of because Gray is a “great person.” Daily Mast
