When reality television personality Garcelle Beauvais found out that her husband of 9 years, Mike Nilon, was cheating on her, she struck back by emailing his Hollywood friends and colleagues and spilling the beans on his alleged infidelity.
Beauvais, a newcomer in the 10th Season of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, made the revelations when she gave Ali Landry, a friend and cast mate on RHOBH, a tour of her house.
Beauvais, best known for her roles as Francesca “Fancy” Monroe on The WB television sitcom, The Jamie Foxx Show, and as Valerie Heywood on the ABC crime drama, NYPD Blue, had two boys with Nilon, Jax and Jaid, before the couple split up.
She revealed how the peace in their seemingly perfect relationship was shattered one day when she discovered a compromising text message in Nilon’s phone.
“One day 9 years ago, I said, ‘Hey Mike, can I use your phone'” recalled Garcelle. “I look at your phone and see a text that says, ‘I love you.’ I say, ‘What’s this?’ and his face changed. He said, ‘I’ve been having an affair.’ I said, ‘How long?’ and he said five years.”
Garcelle went on to narrate how she retaliated against that act of betrayal.
“I’m a hot head, so that night I wrote an e-mail to friends and colleagues at Mike’s work and the subject was ‘What does Tiger Woods, Jesse James and Mike Nilon have in common?'” she continued. “And that e-mail got leaked to the press.”
In 2010, Page Six got hold of the email. “I found out today that MY husband of almost 9 yrs has been having an affair for 5 yrs with some slut in Chicago. I am devastated!!!! And I have been duped!! Our boys don’t deserve this,” it read.
Beauvais revealed that to Landry that as painful the experience had been, she had no regrets about the actions she took.
“100%,” she said, “I wouldn’t wish it on my own enemy. But I know who I am. I know how much I’ve grown.”
Despite being in her debut season of the RHOBH, Beauvais has already been involved in drama, after series veteran Kyle Richards claimed that she had gone behind her back to slander her despite giving the impression that they were getting along.
Beauvais claimed Richards has a big ego.
Garcelle, who I had no issue with all season, she went on ‘Watch What Happens Live’ and said not nice things about me,” Richards told Maria Menounos on “Better Together.”
“I’m always skeptical when someone is nice to you and then goes and says something else,” Richards continued. “If I have an issue with someone, I would say it, because that’s what our job is on the show is to be honest. So whenever someone is one way to my face and another way in an interview, then I’m like, ‘OK, I know what I’m dealing with now.”
