Only a week after his early release from prison, Tekashi 6ix9ine seems intent on resuming life as a rap superstar and has now asked a judge to allow him the chance to shoot music videos in his backyard while he is under house arrest.

6ix9ine was released from federal prison last Thursday afternoon to serve the final months of his sentence in home confinement.

The rapper, who had initially earned a two year conviction, suffers from severe asthma and with COVID-19 posing a constant threat even in prison, his legal team successfully argued that he could be particularly susceptible to the deadly virus.

Other celebrities, like singer R. Kelly and comedian Bill Cosby have appealed for similar clemency from the courts without success.

In R Kelly’s case, Judge Ann M. Donnelly ruled that while it’s “undeniable” the situation had worsened at Chicago’s Metropolitan Correctional Center, Kelly didn’t prove he’s “uniquely at risk for contracting severe illness from COVID-19.”

Cosby’s appeal also seemed to have hit a brick wall.

According to a rep for Pennsylvania’s Department of Corrections, “Based on the criteria exempting sex offenders and knowing his highly publicized case, he would not qualify.”

Correctional authorities have been more lenient with 6ix9ne, who gained notoriety in the world of hip-hop by cooperating with authorities.

According to new legal docs, seen by TMZ, Tekashi’s legal team is requesting that the rapper be allowed to spend up to 2 hours in his backyard once a week to work on music videos. His probation officer is reported to not have raised any objections to the request.

This is not the first time 6ix9ne has been in the headlines since his early release from prison.

After his jail stint, the rapper went on a spending spree, buying items that ranged from luxury cars to chains and expensive watches.
