Disgraced singer R. Kelly has been hit with new charges after federal prosecutors in New York slapped him with an indictment related to two new alleged victims, one of whom was under 18 when she says she had sex with him in 2015.
The indictment filed Friday is charging Kelly with coercion and enticement, coercion of a minor, and transportation of a minor—all under the Mann Act. Prosecutors will seek to prove Kelly and his entourage actively pursued and recruited under-age girls for sex.
53-year-old Kelly is now facing nine charges in New York and 13 charges in Illinois where he is accused of sexually abusing underage girls and conspiring with two of his former workers to rig the outcome of his 2008 child-pornography trial in Cook County.
Legal documents show that one of the victims listed as Jane Doe #5 claims that Kelly never told her he had herpes during the course of their relationship. Another victim, Jane Doe #6 also says she too was exposed to the virus because they had unprotected sex.
Prosecutors have also slapped Kelly with new racketeering charges including claims he used, “force, threats of force, physical restraint and threats of physical restraint.”

It widely reported music industry executives were aware of Kelly’s sexually abusive behavior toward under-age women but did little or nothing due to his phenomenal success.
Kelly who maintains his innocence remains behind bars in Illinois awaiting trial. His lawyers have repeatedly, and emphatically denied all criminal allegations against their client.
