Sean “Diddy” Combs has been transferred from his New Jersey prison to a low-security federal facility in Pennsylvania following a turbulent period behind bars.
The Federal Bureau of Prisons confirmed that the 56-year-old music mogul was moved from FCI Fort Dix to FCI Allenwood Low on Friday, 16 October.
Officials did not disclose why Combs was transferred, citing privacy, safety and security considerations.
The move comes amid reports that Combs had been receiving preferential treatment and accessing prohibited items while incarcerated at Fort Dix.
Spokesperson welcomes prison transfer
Combs’ spokesperson, Juda Engelmayer, confirmed the transfer but said his representatives could not comment on the circumstances behind it.
“We appreciate the Bureau of Prisons taking the safety and security of Sean and everyone involved seriously,” Engelmayer said.
“His transfer from one low-security facility to another is an important distinction, and while we cannot speak to the BOP’s specific reasons for the move, it is consistent with a decision made with safety and security in mind.”

The spokesperson said Combs remained focused on moving forward and expressed hope that his time at Allenwood would be productive and free from unnecessary disruption.
Reports of alcohol, massages and cellphone
NBC News previously reported allegations that Combs was continuing to enjoy elements of his wealthy lifestyle at Fort Dix.
The report alleged that he had access to alcohol and a prohibited cellphone, while other prisoners reportedly cooked for him, cleaned his living area, made his bed and provided massages.

Combs was reportedly placed in the prison’s special housing unit following the allegations.
He has also lost 41 days of good-conduct credit, pushing his projected release date to 2 March 2028, according to the Associated Press.
The Bureau of Prisons has not publicly confirmed that the disciplinary measures or contraband allegations prompted his transfer.
Prison authorities deny reported fight
Combs was reportedly taken from Fort Dix for medical treatment after suffering a head injury last weekend.
Some outlets claimed the injury occurred during a fight with another prisoner, while another report suggested that he had struck his head on a bunk bed.
The Bureau of Prisons took the unusual step of denying the reported fight, telling the Associated Press that the story was false and that the alleged incident did not happen.
Officials have not provided further details about the head injury or treatment.
Serving sentence on prostitution-related convictions
Combs is serving a sentence of four years and two months after being convicted on two federal counts of transporting people across state lines to engage in prostitution.

He was acquitted of the more serious racketeering conspiracy and sex-trafficking charges brought against him.
His lawyers are appealing both his conviction and sentence, arguing that the punishment was excessively harsh. The US Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit has not yet issued its decision.
FCI Allenwood Low is a low-security federal prison for male inmates situated near Allenwood, Pennsylvania. The facility forms part of a larger federal correctional complex containing prisons with different security classifications.
