Mystikal’s legal troubles are far from over despite his recent 20-year prison sentence, as a civil lawsuit filed by the woman he admitted raping continues to move forward.
The Grammy-nominated rapper, whose real name is Michael Tyler, was sentenced to 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to third-degree rape in Louisiana. However, the victim is also pursuing a separate civil case that contains disturbing allegations about what she says happened inside the rapper’s home in July 2022.
According to the lawsuit, the woman visited Mystikal’s residence in Prairieville, Louisiana, and initially believed the encounter was friendly.
She claims the situation changed dramatically after Mystikal emerged from a bathroom and began accusing her of stealing money.
The woman says she denied taking anything, but alleges the rapper became violent.
According to the lawsuit, Mystikal punched her in the face with a closed fist and choked her to the point where she nearly lost consciousness. She claims the attack left her with bruises, scrapes, a laceration, missing hair and a broken fingernail.
The woman alleges Mystikal continued accusing her of theft before forcing her to remove her clothing.
Court documents claim he then spat in her face, poured rubbing alcohol on her and threatened her while swinging a pair of scissors.
The lawsuit further alleges that Mystikal unexpectedly instructed her to pray with him.
According to the complaint, the woman says both knelt beside a bed and prayed together for several minutes.
She claims the rapper then apologised and rested his head on her chest before the encounter allegedly turned violent again.
The woman alleges Mystikal bent her over the bedside and raped her. She claims she was too frightened to resist or refuse.
The lawsuit further alleges that the assault included both vaginal and anal rape and that Mystikal told her he had not used protection.
According to the complaint, the ordeal did not end there.
The woman claims Mystikal then forced her to search his home for the money he believed was missing and later compelled her to send him $150 through a payment app.
She says the incident left her with significant physical injuries, emotional trauma and financial losses due to time missed from work.
The civil lawsuit remains active despite the conclusion of the criminal case.
Earlier this month, Mystikal received a 20-year prison sentence after pleading guilty to third-degree rape. The sentence followed his arrest in 2022 and years of legal proceedings.
Neither Mystikal nor his legal team have publicly commented on the latest allegations contained in the civil lawsuit.
