G-Unit’s classic early-2000s sneaker collaboration with Reebok appears set for a comeback

Must Try

50 Cent may not have been ready for the world to hear about the return of the legendary G-Unit sneaker line just yet.

During a recent appearance on The Real Report podcast, Tony Yayo revealed that the iconic collaboration between G-Unit and Reebok is making a comeback.

According to Yayo, the sneakers have already been presented to retailers, with a possible release expected sometime in July.

The original G-Unit x Reebok partnership became one of hip-hop’s most recognizable sneaker collaborations during the early 2000s, launching at the height of 50 Cent’s commercial dominance following the success of Get Rich or Die Tryin’.

The collection included several popular designs, including the G6, G XT, running shoes, boots, and women’s versions, helping cement G-Unit’s influence beyond music and into fashion and streetwear culture.

But while fans celebrated the apparent return, 50 Cent seemed frustrated that the announcement surfaced before any official rollout.

In a clip shared by Complex on Instagram, the rapper reacted while sitting in a car after seeing footage of Yayo discussing the sneaker release.

“I can’t tell Yayo nothing,” 50 said while shaking his head in apparent annoyance before watching the podcast clip play on screen.

Despite the reaction, there does not appear to be serious tension between the longtime collaborators. Yayo later commented on the Instagram post using laughing emojis, suggesting the moment was taken lightly.

The sneaker revival adds another chapter to the long-running legacy of G-Unit, the rap collective formed in 1999 by 50 Cent alongside Tony Yayo and Lloyd Banks.

During the early and mid-2000s, G-Unit became one of hip-hop’s most commercially powerful brands, dominating mixtapes, album sales, fashion partnerships, and entertainment ventures while expanding into film, television, and business deals.

Interest in the group’s history has continued to resurface in recent months amid renewed public attention surrounding former affiliates and old rivalries.

Recently, former G-Unit associate The Game referenced his fallout with 50 Cent during a New York club appearance, reportedly telling the crowd to “tell Fif I’m here.”

Meanwhile, Tony Yayo also recently revisited the group’s long-running conflict with Ja Rule, suggesting the rivalry remains unresolved years later.

With nostalgia for 2000s hip-hop fashion continuing to grow, the return of the G-Unit Reebok line is likely to generate major interest among longtime fans and sneaker collectors alike.
