Multi-platinum rapper Future is facing a new legal challenge after a woman filed a paternity suit seeking child support for a nine-year-old boy she claims is his son.
According to court documents, Layla Sanad is asking the court to formally establish paternity for her child, identified as K.W., who was born in 2017.
Sanad alleges that she and the rapper were previously in a relationship that resulted in the child’s birth. While she claims Future has privately acknowledged being the father, she says he has not provided formal, court-ordered support.
The lawsuit seeks ongoing child support as well as two years of retroactive payments.
In response, Future has moved to shift the case from Florida, arguing that Arizona would be a more appropriate jurisdiction since Sanad and the child reportedly reside there.
Court filings also indicate that the rapper claims he has been voluntarily contributing $3,500 per month toward the child’s care, though Sanad is reportedly seeking a higher amount.
If the court confirms paternity, the child would become Future’s ninth.
The rapper’s personal life, particularly his relationships and children, has frequently drawn public attention. His past relationship with Ciara remains one of the most high-profile, with the pair sharing a son together.
Following their split, Ciara married NFL star Russell Wilson, who has played a significant role in raising the child.
The case is ongoing and will determine both paternity and any potential financial obligations.
