Britney Spears is not involved in The Weeknd’s new project with HBO despite her announcing claims that “I just shot a movie titled “THE IDOL“ … it’s guaranteed to have hits and a lot bright pics to put in my beautiful family’s faces !!!!!”
Spears -who recently regained her independence after spending 13 years under conservatorship- announced she’s working on on a new project with Canadian singer The Weeknd in a new HBO show ‘The Idol’.
The 39-year-old singer announced that she will feature in the star’s HBO show. She threw some shade towards her family after her controversial conservatorship recently ended.
She posted on her Instagram, “I just shot a movie titled ‘THE IDOL’…its guaranteed to have hits and a lot bright pics to out in my beautiful family’s faces.
“I hope you guys are having a merry ole jolly time cause I sure am !!! If I go quiet from time to time, you can catch me with this cat somewhere.”
This comes after it was reported that The Weeknd, 30, -real name Abel Tesfaye- was creating and producing a six part show for HBO, centering on a self-help guru cult leader who forms a toxic relationship with a rising pop star.
Britney is not new to acting but her last acting gig came 19 years ago when she featured in ‘Crossroads’.
While making the announcement she also took it as an opportunity to apologize to her fans and family.
She wrote, “I know I’ve said some things on my Insta out of anger and I’m sorry but I’m only human… and I believe you’d feel the same way if you were me!”
