“High School Musical” star Zac Efron has split from his Australian girlfriend, Vanessa Valladares, after a whirlwind 10-month romance.
The film star met his girlfriend, Vanessa at the Byron Bay General Store where she was working as a waitress in June last year.
Radio host Kyle Sandilands who is close to Zac, confirmed the split saying ‘it wasn’t just a rumour. I can confirm after speaking with him (Zac) yesterday.”
According to an Australian publication the two have called it quits. This comes after Zac put his Los Angeles home up for sale and was property hunting in Australia with ‘no plans’ of moving back to the US.
Sources close to him said he even considers Australia as his home, “As of now, he has no plans to live permanently in L.A. again. He loves Australia and considers it his second name.
Another source revealed that the ‘High School Musical’ alum was ‘loving his life in Australia’ and had ‘settled down and was very happy with his girlfriend.’
While reasons behind the couple’s split are not yet clear, some sources claim it’s because ‘Zac’s career is very demanding’.
This isn’t the first news of a break up in their relationship. In late November, sources told Britain’s tabloid, The Sun that Zac and Vanessa were breaking up because of distance.
At the time Zac was filming his upcoming movie Gold in Adelaide, Australia, which was more than 1000 miles away from where he and Vanessa met and were living in Byron Bay.
The 33-year-old actor had his breakthrough in 2006 when he starred in Disney’s High School Musical playing the male lead character of Troy Bolton.
