Avengers star Jeremy Renner registered a small victory in his long fight against ex-wife Sonni Pacheco after an LA judge ruled that he did not have to take a drug test despite her request that he do so before their divorce hearing.
Judge Anne Richardson only ordered Renner to pay for Pacheco’s lawyer fees.
The star’s wife accused him of having a “long history of alcohol and drug abuse which has persisted since before the parties’ marriage, through divorce and post-judgment.”
The judge, however, would have none of it, ruling that there is insufficient evidence to warrant a drug test.
“Court finds there are insufficient facts to order the drug test.”
Divorce proceedings, initiated in 2014 after 10 months of marriage, have been tumultuous for the couple.
Pacheco has accused Renner of not observing coronavirus rules and endangering their daughter as he brought her the company of young women who did not wear masks.
According to a motion filed by his wife, Renner, who plays Hawk Eye on the Avengers, had thrown lavish parties at his Reno home.
“It appears that Respondent is not following pandemic safety guidelines, including while Ava is in his custody, particularly in his Reno home.
“The evidence strongly suggests that Respondent has numerous people in his Reno house without wearing masks. The participants include several young women.”
