One time NFL Rookie of the Year, William “Chip” Banks, is fighting for his life after being shot alongside two others in what appears to been a targeted hit in Atlanta, Georgia.

Banks is a four-time Pro-Bowler who played for the Cleveland Browns, San Diego Chargers, and Indianapolis Colts.

One of the men Banks was shot with was pronounced dead on the scene by emergency services, while he and another are said to be battling for their lives at a local hospital.

Police said a group of masked men approached the home, shooting one man in the driveway before gunning down the other two inside the home.

“Detectives are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding this incident,” a spokesperson for the Atlanta Police Department told TMZ. “The investigation continues.”

Banks was the No. 3 overall pick of the 1982 draft out of USC. He was the NFL’s Defensive Rookie of the Year and made the Pro Bowl four times, all with the Browns.
