While she does not know about his present condition as he is holed up in his Wyoming ranch, Caitlyn Jenner says she hopes the best for Kanye West as he is a “good guy”.
Kanye has been in the news recently as concerns about his mental health grow. After he made controversial comments in his first campaign rally, the rapper has had several twitter outbursts that have thrown his family in turmoil.
During an appearance on Good Morning Britain, Caitlyn said although she did not know Kanye’s current standing, she wanted the best for him.
“Honestly, I don’t know. Since all of this has come down, I’ve kind of just watched it go down. He’s living in Wyoming,” she said to hosts Ben Shephard and Kate Garraway when asked how Kanye was.
“I wish him well. He’s a really good guy.”
Caitlyn also admitted that her disclosure that she wanted to be Kanye’s Vice President should his unlikely run for president be successful had been made in jest.
“I texted him and said “can I be your [Vice President],” the 70-year-old told TMZ recently.
On the show however, she clarified that she had only been joking.
“He’s been the most kind, loving human being and so good to be throughout the years and he’s been the best friend,” Caitlin continued. “He’s extremely supportive.”
Pressed to comment on whether the man who married her stepdaughter would make a good president, Caitlyn said she preferred not to talk politics anymore.
“I can’t even go there – we’re living in such a political environment. I don’t even want to talk about politics anymore.”
