Nicki Minaj’s husband may miss child’s birth because of curfew restrictions
Nicki Minaj’s husband, Kenneth Petty is appealing for the relaxation of his pretrial curfew conditions, as he argues that they may prevent him from being there for the birth of their child.
Petty faces trial for failing to declare that he is a sex offender when he moved to California with Minaj.
While he waits for his next court date, his travel is restricted to Southern California and he also has a curfew. His current predicament is due to a previous rape conviction that saw him serve four years in prison back in 1995.
He was released on a $100,000 collateral bond with the strict conditions attached.
“He has been advised that his current release conditions will not permit him to attend his child’s birth, should it occur outside of curfew hours,” his lawyer Meghan Blanco said in a declaration filed with the modification request in the Central District of California Wednesday.
Instead of a curfew and residential restrictions, Kenneth wants instead to be subjected to “location monitoring.”
Minaj recently revealed that she is pregnant with her first child, only months after marrying childhood friend Kenneth Petty.
Nicki announced the big news on Instagram, sharing a typically colourful picture of herself with a telling baby bump.
