Rihanna celebrated a decade and a half since the release of her first single, Pon De Replay while also revealing how she was shaking at one time as she waited to audition for then Def Jam boss Jay Z.
Pon de Replay, released in 2005, appeared on Rihanna’s debut album titled Music of the Sun.
While she celebrated 15 years at the top, Rihanna shared with fans on Instagram how things were not always so rosy for the pop music sensation turned lingerie mogul.

“Thank you for all the love on this hashtag today! Man this is trippy. Feels like just yesterday I was shaking in the hallways of Def Jam waiting to audition for Jay,” the singer said as she thanked fans for making the hashtag #15YearsOfRihanna trend.
She went on to thank fans, known collective as The Navy.
“Pon de Replay is where it all began…15 years later and I’m here because God led me to you, and you guys have held me up, supported me, tolerated me, loved me, kept it too real with me, and we gon always be connected because of that!” she said.
As is now the norm with Rihanna posts on social media, many took the opportunity to ask her about when she might be releasing a new offering.
