Sexyy Red is seeking more than $500,000 in damages after claiming a security lapse at a luxury Florida mansion led to a major burglary during a family celebration.
According to a lawsuit filed by the rapper, the incident occurred in January 2025 while she was hosting a birthday retreat for her mother at a rented mansion in Florida.
Sexyy Red alleges that a masked intruder entered the property through an unlocked door on January 12 and made off with an extensive collection of valuables.
Among the items reportedly stolen were luxury necklaces, charms, rings, bracelets, watches and designer handbags with a combined value of at least $500,000.
The rapper says she had hired a security team to protect the property and guests during the celebration. However, she claims the security personnel failed to properly secure the mansion, allowing the thief access to the home.
According to the lawsuit, a subsequent police investigation concluded that one of the property’s doors had been left unlocked.
Sexyy Red has placed the blame on her former security guard, Carl Thompson, alleging he was responsible for ensuring the property was secure and was the last person to leave before the burglary occurred.
The rapper has now filed a lawsuit seeking compensation for the stolen items and other damages related to the incident.
The legal battle is the latest twist in an ongoing dispute between Sexyy Red and Thompson.
In August 2025, Thompson filed his own lawsuit against the rapper and members of her team, claiming he had worked as her personal security guard from May 2023 until December 2024.
According to his complaint, Thompson says he was hired on a salary of $180,000 per year but was ultimately paid only $204,000 during his employment. He alleges he should have received approximately $285,000 and sued to recover the difference.
Sexyy Red has denied allegations that she underpaid him.
Her new countersuit turns the spotlight back on Thompson, accusing him of negligence and linking him to the security failure that allegedly resulted in the theft.
The case remains ongoing, with both sides continuing to pursue legal action against one another.
Neither Thompson nor his representatives have publicly responded to the latest allegations.
